Rental Car Insurance

I am in a dilemma, about rental insurance. Let me start from the beginning. My family and I are about to journey on up north at the end of month. Going back home to NYC for a week. After researching the trip fare. You see, we are going to take the train. When you have a 7 yr old with a weak stomach and 2 yr old twins, the train seem like the logical choice. However the price is not logical. I would cost us about 800.00 round trip for a family of 5 (2 Adult and 3 children).

So we decided to look into car rental. That was our first choice, but since I would be the sole driver my wife got a little worried about the long distance (500 mi approx.). Now since we realize the price of the train and to travel about 10-11 hrs with the children, I believe its not a good idea so we when back to the rental route. I research Hertz using my AAA membership discount, however Enterprise gave us a better price. So I now here is my dilemma should I go with the rental insurance? It looks like $20 or more a day for a week. I will give my car insurance agent a call tomorrow to see if my insurance covers rentals. If so I will go that route, even though I will have to pay a deductible if I have a fender-bender. I found a informative article on "the basic of rental car insurance". Well, I have a week before I have to make a decision.

Blackberry Thunder vs. iPhone 3G

Okay, now it time for the showdown. I almost picked up an iPhone 3G the other day. After looking at the line of 50 people in front of the Apple store at my local mall and mine you this is at 10:30PM. I decided to hold of until the rush calms down.

The following day, I when to a located AT&T authorized agent to see if he had any iPhone in stock. He told me, that he did not carry the iPhone, however after speaking with him for a bit, he told me to hold off and wait. He just got word that a new iPhone 3G (32gb verison) was on the rise, possibility at the end of the month. Also he started talking about the new Blackberry coming of at the end of the summer. It's called the "Blackberry Thunder". This unit is all touchscreen and should be the next "iPhone killer". However I have notice that everyone is making a so-called "iPhone Killer"! Well I have to wait and see how this one fair.
Also a side-note I would have to switch carriers to get the Thunder, it will be exclusively sold by Verizon.

Hopefully by the fall season I will decide on what to get for a mobile upgrade.

I this is a my first blog posting on "Blogger". I decided to give this a try, I currently was testing out Wordpress.com, however I feel limited so I will have now upgrade to Wordpress.org. But for now I will see what are the pros and cons of Google-Blogger.
